Air Training Corps in Northern Ireland

There are 600 Air Cadets in Northern Ireland ATC Wing, comprising 13 Squadrons located throughout the Province.

Flying experience for the Air Training Corps (ATC) in Northern Ireland is provided primarily by 664 Volunteer Gliding School Newtownards.

Their Charter is to promote and encourage among people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force. To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life and to foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.

The Air Training Corps is a voluntary youth organisation sponsored by the Royal Air Force. For young people aged 13 - 20 years, the ATC aims to encourage practical interest in aviation and to provide training useful both to the Services and civilian life. It aims to promote a spirit of adventure and to develop qualities of leadership.
