RAF Air Cadets

The Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC) include the RAF contingent of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF).
A national youth organisation that promotes a practical interest in aviation for 13–20 year-olds, it offers young people the opportunity to take to the skies and partake in a wide range of adventurous pursuits. It’s a volunteer-military youth organisation sponsored by the Royal Air Force.
Upon joining a local RAFAC or CCF unit, Air Cadets get the chance to experience the exhilaration of flights on-board a Grob Turbo, or even an in-service RAF aircraft such as the Hawk fast-jet or a Chinook helicopter.
As well as acquiring flight knowledge and experience, Air Cadets develop valuable personal skills such as leadership and good citizenship. An array of adventure training activities are also on offer – ranging from mountaineering to quad biking and canoeing.
The RAFAC has more than 1000 Squadrons (13 in Northern Ireland ) with a total of 31,190 cadets and 10,280 Adult Volunteers.
