Engagement
We work to establish and maintain strong relationships with employers, schools, medical professionals, higher education and community stakeholders in Northern Ireland to develop a mutually beneficial working relationship with the Ministry of Defence.
RFCA ensures its link with the community throughout Northern Ireland through its volunteer membership, whose principal role is to forge stronger links between the Defence family (reserves, veterans, service leavers, cadets and cadet force adult volunteers and their families) and the wider Northern Ireland community. In particular, they deliver advocacy for the reserve and cadet forces and provide a mechanism for feedback to the MOD and the single Services.
Our Stakeholders are invited to discover the benefits of partnering with Defence through unit engagement activities and domestic military initiatives. These events allow employers to see first-hand the transferable skill set reservists bring to the workplace.
We know that reservists could not carry out their important role and train to the high standards of professionalism required, without the co-operation of their employers. Defence Relationship Management (DRM) is a single point of contact linking employers with the Ministry of Defence and offers advice and support on employing members of the Armed Forces. Highland RFCA has two Regional Employer Engagement Directors (REEDs) who act as the interface between Defence and employers.
