RFCA NI is responsible for the management and maintenance of 14 reserve sites and 26 cadet sites across Northern Ireland, with the head office based in Belfast.
The Association is currently engaged in a change programme to incorporate the Hard Facilities Management of the RFCA estate into the Future Defence Infrastructure System (FDIS).
FDIS has been running on the Regular estate for over two years now. Mitie is the Regional Prime Contractor in Northern Ireland. The switchover date for all RFCAs is 1 August 2024, with full operating capability to be achieved by 1 February 2025.

The RFCA NI Estates Team will be responsible for assuring the work of Mitie across the areas of fault reporting, inspections and tests, repairs, condition surveys, and checking Value for Money.
RFCA NI will also remain responsible for:
- Managing title deeds, leases and rentals for the Volunteer Estate.
- Working with the single Services and Cadet organisations to identify future estate priorities.
- Commissioning new works and betterment projects on the Cadet estate funded by rate rebate.
- Soft Facilities Management.
