1st (NI) Army Cadet Battalion Kicks off Annual Summer Camp at Otterburn.
Last week, the 1st Army Cadet Battalion launched the first Northern Ireland ACF annual summer camp at Otterburn Camp, Newcastle Upon Tyne. These summer camps are a major highlight of the Army Cadet Force (ACF) calendar, usually offering cadets a two-week immersive experience packed with outdoor adventure and skill building opportunities.
Throughout the camp Cades take part in a wide range of activities including; navigation, first aid, obstacle courses, and fieldcraft, often within a broader, national cadet setting. These experiences are designed to develop confidence, teamwork and independence, while also encouraging young people to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new challenges.
Of course, no summer camp would be complete without the chance to make new friends and create lasting memories – something the cadets have been enthusiastically embracing!
