
CADETS CELEBRATE PLATINUM JUBILEE YEAR WITH FANTASTIC FAMILY FUN DAY AT BALLYKINLER.
Earlier this month, 2nd (Northern Ireland) Battalion Army Cadet Force hosted a family fun day celebration event at Ballykinler Cadet Training Centre, in celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee year on the throne. Army Cadets, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, family and friends attended from far and wide to enjoy a day of fun filled and sunny afternoon for the all the family to enjoy.
A vast array of stalls were on display for guests to enjoy including Military Vehicles from Northern Ireland Community Search and Rescue Service, D.Coy a group of military enthusiasts, Pathway Adventure Activities which included numerous inflatable activities and a high ropes course to a number of Army Reserve Regiments including The Royal Irish Regiment and the Irish Guards which each provided an insight into their role of their unit and how they fit into the Armed Forces family as a whole.
With almost 1,000 guests in attendance the day was a great success! It was a highlight event for a special occasion and will most certainly will not be forgotten for many years to come.
2nd (Northern Ireland) Battalion Army Cadet Force are keen to recruit and meet new cadets within their catchment areas across Co Down. There are detachments in: Holywood, Bangor, Newtonards, Donaghadee Comber and Greyabbey to name but a few!
