Following on from the success of being awarded The Queens Award for Voluntary Service in June 2012, Portrush Sea Cadets have recently received another prestigious award – this time, a little closer to home.
Coleraine Borough Council have presented the Cadets with the 2013 Community Endeavour Award – Youth Activity Category.
This is in recognition of such local events as organising and hosting an Outreach Multi-Activity Programme and encouraging and facilitating young people to get involved with the International Maritime Confederation (IMC) – Sail Training and Cultural Programme and in training youth in the Borough via the Networks Involving Communities in Health Improvement.
