In 2017 591 oversaw the construction of a new Driver Training Track in Ballykinler Training Camp. Since then, gradual wear and tear has taken its toll. Thus, in July 2019 the Squadron returned to carry out some repair and maintenance work.
The Eastern-most track of the DTT at BTC had been heavily worn down due to repeated use by units such 152 RLC and the SNIY over the last two years. In order to sustain the operational use of the Track, 591 was tasked with overseeing the relaying of some parts of the track and minor repair work
This was completed over a single weekend under the direction of the Sqn Spt Tp and has helped maintain the capability training infrastructure in Northern Ireland, while also providing trade enhancement training for the POMs involved
