Individuals from 204 (NI) Field Hospital took part in Ex Cold Soldier in Tignes, learning how to alpine ski and ski tour.
The students also learnt about cold and mountain ailments, weather and avalanche risks.
204 (NI) Field Hospital had a range of participants, from complete novice/debutante skier to ski instructor. The participants gained a range of qualifications from Ski Foundation 1 to 3. The Ski Leader 1 (ski instructor) taught two sets of debutante skiers over a 2 week period.
The intrepid 204 participants worked hard and achieved a great deal from the course, but they also had a fantastic time and came back with much improved skiing abilities.
