Twelve very lucky Sea Cadets from across the United Kingdom, attended the launch ceremony of the new Flagship in the shipyard of Astilleros Gondán, Castropol, Spain. Also in the travelling party, the Commanding Officer of the new Flagship, Lieutenant (SCC) Angie Morris RNR, Captain Sea Cadets, Captain Jonathan Holloway Royal Navy and, Mr. Martin J. Coles, Chief Executive, The Marine Society and Sea Cadets.
Captain Jonathan Holloway Royal Navy, Captain Sea Cadets, says “This is a monumental occasion for us and a once in a lifetime opportunity for Sea Cadets to see first-hand and experience the launch of their brand new ship! We look forward to the commissioning of the new vessel when Sea Cadets will finally have the chance to sail the new ship on offshore voyages.”
The new state-of-the-art ship, also called TS ROYALIST, will be ready for the start of the 2015 sailing season, enabling thousands of cadets to experience offshore voyages each will never forget!
