502 Sqn has been busy working with our Tri-service colleagues towards a Tri-service recruiting policy for Medical Reservists in N Ireland. The Launch of the RCN/Defence Nursing Partnership is just one of the initiatives progressed. We now have a Tri Service Commitment to the newly formed Royal College of Nursing/Defence Nursing Partnership – well supported by the N Ireland Govt. Regular meetings are being held, and it is all going well !!

Recently 502 Medics participated in the N Ireland Military Trauma Conference on 9 Aug 14.  Cpl John Greenfield (Paramedic) from 612 Sqn, flew over from Glasgow (a short hop!) to attend, stating that he enjoyed the experience! We will be recruiting at the Tri-service Military Jobs Fair in Belfast on 30 Aug 14, and are about to launch a publicity campaign, throughout N Ireland –  with careful planning and security considerations incorporated in the plan. Since June 2014 – 502 Sqn (Medical)have recruited well  – there are currently 5 members on the Flight, with another two soon to attest.  We hope to continue with this positive path and thank 612 Sqn for all it’s superb support over the last few months.  We are also grateful to 4626 Sqn for their encouragement and friendship. Two members of 502 Sqn – AC Hanna (Photographer) and Cpl Stewart (PTI) attended the Medical ACT in Cyprus in Jul, where they were warmly welcomed – they had a great time !! AC Hanna has been working on “Personal Profiles” for recruiting purposes and has supplied some lovely photographs.
