Teenage Army Cadets welcomed a very special canine guest of honour to their Detachment at Ballykinler in County Down, during a ceremony to mark the re-badging of the detachment from The Rifles to The Royal Irish Regiment.

During the ceremony, the cadets were presented with the caubeen headdress – the symbol of the Royal Irish Regiment.

Finn the Irish Wolfhound, arguably one of the most famous serving members of the Royal Irish Regiment, with his handler, Ranger Joel Evangelista, took centre stage, much to the delight of the cadets.
