For this year’s RFCA NI Annual Briefing and Dinner, we were superbly hosted by the Ulster University at their Belfast Campus.
Over 70 members of the Association joined the RFCA NI staff for an update on reserve and cadet matters. They also had the privilege of receiving an outstanding talk from the former CEO of Ulster Rugby, Mr Shane Logan, whose business career is truly inspirational.
The members were also delighted to welcome Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major Charlie Griffith, from 2nd (NI) Battalion Army Cadet Force, who gave a very inspiring presentation about the opportunities that he has had as a cadet, including taking part in the recent Lord Dannatt’s Round Britain Sailing Challenge.
This was followed by another excellent presentation by a member of 591 Field Squadron, 71 Engineer Regiment, who spoke passionately about his recent experiences on deployment in South Sudan.
Following the briefing, the members were treated to a fantastic meal in The Academy Restaurant, which is the training restaurant belonging to the university, open to the public and run by the hospitality students. It was a truly memorable evening, with amazing food and outstanding service.
RFCA NI would like to thank all of the speakers for giving up their time to provide such enlightening and interesting presentations and to the staff at the Ulster University for their wonderful hospitality.
