1st (Northern Ireland) Battalion ACF success

2011 / 2012 has been a remarkable year of success and improvement for 1st (Northern Ireland) Battalion ACF in shooting.

  1. In Feb 2012 the team from Model Schools won the Belfast Telegraph and Queen’s University Officer Training Corps Cups with Cdt LCpl McNeil winning the best overall shot in the BT Cup.
  2. 1st (Northern Ireland) Battalion ACF won the HMS Malaya Cup out of a total of fifty two teams in the Falling Plate competition at Cadet Inter Service’s Skill at Arms Meeting (CISAAM) held at Pirbright.
  3. 52 cadets from the Battalion entered into the Cadet 100 .22 Rifle Small-Bore Competition out of a National entry of 1475 with 14 Battalion cadets progressing through to the 2nd round.
  4. A 1st Battalion best for quite a number of years at the Inter Services Cadet Rifle Meeting (ISCRM) at the National Shooting Centre Bisley with S/Sgt Aston Corey gaining a 10th individual place from over 500 inter service cadets and representing the Army Cadet Force team against the Air Training Corps and Sea Cadet Corps in the Challenge Cup.
