The 101st Nijmegen International Four Day Marches will take place over the period 18 to 21 Jul 17 in the Netherlands. Teams and Individuals from all Services and Cadet Organisations will form part of the British Military Contingent (BMC).
The Nijmegen Marches have long been recognized as an excellent training event, in which teams have to exhibit a variety of military competences, including leadership, man-management and teamwork; together with physical and mental ability. In addition, the British Military are rightly held in high esteem by the military staffs of the other participating nations. Participants are required to march approximately 40km over different routes on each of the four marching days. On completion of the 4 days all members of the BMC will participate in the traditional end of competition march past.
This year 253 (North Irish) Medical Regiment will be providing real life medical support to the British Military Contingent taking part in the Nijmegan Marches 2017. As you can imagine, months of pre training has been taking place to prepare all those unit members who will deploy on this memorable tasking.
The 253 contingent are looking forward to taking on the challenge.
