Last weekend saw cadets from all over Northern Ireland head to take part in the prestigious annual First Aid Competition which is eagerly awaited each year. The teams have already taken part in the local heats to qualify for the event. With stiff competition and extremely high standards cadets the cadets had to take part in several as well as individual scenarios where they were tested on a wide range of First Aid skills they have learned through the cadets. A selection is then made from the highest scoring teams from two competitions, one for the Army Cadets and one for the Combined cadets; 1st NI Battalion and 2nd Battalion Army Force each had 4 teams each competing. There were also teams from across the Combined Cadet Force School (CCFS) which included; Campbell College, Strathearn School, Lisnagarvey High School, Sullivan Upper, The Royal School Armagh, Bloomfield College, Larne High School and Bangor Grammar.
Everyone completing of course is a winner! However the champions on the day were; CCF Winners; Royal School Armagh with runner up Campbell College; ACF Winners Sullivan Upper with runner up B Coy, 1st Bn. The overall winners on the day were Sullivan Upper Detachment who took home the Brigade trophy! A special mention also to the Young Adult Team from Clonaver detachment.
