
Recently, a selected group of invited guests from RFCA NI had the privilege of watching from the ‘best seats in the house’ the Trooping the Colour ceremony in London – this featured a dazzling display of British pageantry that marked the official birthday of the Sovereign Kind Charles. Set against the backdrop if the Horse Guards Parade, the unfolded in brilliant sunshine as over 1,000 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians delivered a breath-taking spectacle to the delighted audience.
The highlight of the day came as members of the Royal family – including His Majesty the Kling, The Prince and Princess of Wales and other senior Royals took part in the ceremony. Appearances on horseback (Princess Anne pictured above) and in beautifully decorated carriages claimed smiles and sincere applause from the crowds there was a real sense of national pride as the King took the salute.
From the musical stirring of the massed bands to the spectacular flypast by the RAF, every moment was treasured in this celebration of tradition, service and unity.
As the last notes of the nation anthem played the crowd erupted into applause and guests left with a renewed and heightened sense of heritage for the nation what a truly remarkable day set in central London.
