Cadets and Reservists across Northern Ireland took part in many of the St Patrick’s Day celebrations. Hundreds of cadets paraded in towns along with Royal Irish Reservists and the full time Irish Guards. For several cadets from Ballygowan they were honoured to be included in the spectacular St Patrick’s Day parade in London, when The Princess of Wales, who is colonel of the Irish Guards presented the traditional sprigs of shamrocks and medals to officers, guardsmen and of course not forgetting a special hello to Seamus the magnificent Irish Guards’ mascot.
