B Company, 1st (NI) Army Cadet Force, won the overall trophy at the recent Army Cadet Force Association (Northern Ireland) Regional First Aid Competition 2015, despite stiff competition from the other 6 ACF and 3 CCF teams taking part.

In the team competition, the teams had eight minutes to deal with two casualties who had collided whilst riding their bikes.  One casualty had an open fracture to the right wrist and was in shock and the second casualty had a closed fracture of the right rib and was in severe shock.

The individual competition involved a different scenario for each of the 4 team members and all were extremely challenging, but the cadets performed extremely well.

The ACF winners and overall champions were B Company 1st (NI) Bn ACF and pictured above from the team are, from left:

The CCF winners were Royal School Armagh.

The winning teams from the ACF and CCF will be participating in the 2015 National First Aid Competition at Strensall on Saturday 17th October and then the Inter Services First Aid Competition on Sunday 18th October 2015.

Col (Ret) Tom Quinn, ACFA (NI) Vice President, presented the prizes and thanked the casualties and British Red Cross personnel who once again acted as judges.
