Over the weekend of 9-11 August 2019, a total of 8 reservists from 204 (North Irish) Field hospital undertook a Train the Trainer Course in the new Hospex Tabletop Training System. Delivered by the developer of the Hospex System, Col David Vassallo, 204 personnel were joined by 3 members of 253 (North Irish) Medical Regiment at the Naval Reserve Base in HMS Hibernia,Thiepval Barracks, Lisburn.
Members of both units agreed that the joint training approach worked well and had added to the training benefits for all.
The aim of the weekend was to prepare trainers who will deliver this Hospex tabletop system to the whole unit and exercise our departments in preparation for Year 4 and 5 in our deployment cycle. Key learning points have been identified. The unit will see tabletop Hospex training initiate in the next few months.
In attendance at the weekend was a broad spectrum of current departmental leads, medical disciplines, skills and operational experience which led to some excellent discussion and training being delivered.
