Lagan Aviation and Infrastructure have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, confirming their commitment to supporting members of the Armed Forces community, including Reservists, veterans and their families.
The signing took place alongside Brigadier Piers Ashfield, Commander 38 Irish Brigade, and Wing Commander Jacqs Rankin representing the RAF, reflecting the strong and ongoing relationship between Defence and employers in Northern Ireland.
Reservists bring valuable skills into the workplace including leadership, teamwork and the ability to perform under pressure — developed through their service and applied directly in their civilian roles.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a voluntary pledge that recognises the contribution of those who serve and ensures they are treated fairly in the workplace and wider society. By signing, Lagan Aviation and Infrastructure join a growing number of organisations across Northern Ireland who are taking practical steps to support Defence, including helping Reservists manage both their military and civilian commitments.

A spokesperson for Lagan Aviation and Infrastructure said: “Gaining the AFC Award formally acknowledges the support the business has shown the armed forces community since the early 1990s. It’s more than an accreditation, it’s official recognition of a commitment that has been ingrained in the company’s culture for decades. Rather than marking the start of a journey, it celebrates the one we’ve been on for many years and strengthens the foundation we will continue to build on.”
This latest signing highlights the growing engagement between Defence and Industry in Northern Ireland, with increasing recognition of the role employers play in supporting those who serve.
