As part of their return to normal activities post-covid, RAF Cadets from Omagh & Fermanagh recently spent the day at Aldergrove flying in Royal Air Force aircraft.
Cadets Alexander Dodds (14) Hannah Rennie (16) & Andrew Patterson (16) undertook a full day of Air Experience Flying in Tutor training aircraft of the RAF.
Despite their young ages, all three Cadets took control of their aircraft under the supervision of a serving RAF pilot, before engaging in aerobatics such as ‘looping the loop’ and learning basic flight techniques in the skies above Antrim.
Squadron Leader Graham Dodds, Regional Media Communications Officer for the RAF Air Cadets commented
“This unique flying experience is a central part of the adventurous activities provided by RAFAC and is another great reason for young people aged 12 to 17 to join us”
He continued
“No other youth organisation has access to these operational RAF aircraft and pilots, so our offer to local young people is unique”
Squadron Leader Dodds concluded by saying
“Any young person aged 12 to 17 years old can join us and could soon be in the air undertaking air experience flying. Interested young people or parents should email [email protected]
