Cadets from across Northern Ireland had the honour of meeting Prince Harry when he made his first official visit to Northern Ireland and attended a series of engagements in Ballymena, Belfast and Hillsborough.

He began by opening a new multi-million pound ambulance station in Ballymena, where he was welcomed by the Lord Lieutenant for County Antrim, Mrs Joan Christie and her Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet Jake Johnston.

HRH then headed to Belfast, where he met with representatives of the peace-building organisation, Co-operation Ireland, at the MAC along with a range of youth organisations, to hear about their cross-community work.

He concluded his visit with a garden party at the Queen’s official residence in Northern Ireland, Hillsborough Castle, which was hosted by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland. Prince Harry was introduced to a number of Cadets and Adult Volunteers from all three organisations, with Cadet Sgt Jack Liggett from the RAF Air Cadets and Cadet Sgt Alex Lane from Ballygowan Army Cadets playing a starring role in the local papers and evening news bulletins across the country!
