Some Sharp Shooting from NI’s Army Cadets.

Northern Ireland Cadets, once again, have had the opportunity to test their sharp shooting skills at the annual Northern Ireland Cadet Rifle Meeting (NICRM) at Ballykinler Training Centre in early April 2013; this is a closely fought and highly coveted shooting competition where cadets from both Northern Ireland Battalions and the Combined Cadet Force are invited to compete.

Amongst the winners was Cadet L/Corporal Clement Buchanan from Campbell College CCF, Cadet C/Sgt Jack Gibson of Foyle and Londonderry College CCF and Cadet Sgts Jenny Patterson (pictured alongside, Colonel Nick Tougher, Col TA), Louise Orr and Alex Strain of 2nd NI Bn ACF.

F Coy, 2nd NI Bn ACF was also awarded the prize for Champion Unit with Campbell College CCF hot on their heels as a close second.

Northern Ireland’s young ACF “marksmen” have also been competing earlier this year for the Belfast Telegraph Cup (BTC) and the Queens University Officer Training Corps Cup (QUOTCC)in Carryduff on 24 February 2013 

The winning teams being Fivemiletown Detachment (BTC) and The Model Schools Detachment (QUOTCC) with individual honours going to  Cdt H McCaughey, Cambridge House, Cadet LSgt E Doak and Cadet L/Cpl R McNeill, Model Schools.
